Located just 25 miles from Hawk's manufacturing plant in Holme Upon Spalding Moor, York St John's University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in York. Established in 1841, the university is situated on an 11 acre site comprised of a number of departmental wings and buildings, surrounded by local student accommodation.

As part of a full refurbishment, Hawk were selected to provide a full 90 bedroom fit out to St Marys House, which was completed over 2 stages. Following consultation and a visit to our factory and showroom, premium student bed's were chosen to provide integrated storage (under-bed draws and end cupboard), along with headboard and wall protector. Other storage was also specified in the form of wardrobes, bedside cabinets and wall mounted bookcases. The University decided to opt for a more executive desk and chose the Bologna leg, creating a solid yet slender design.

Keeping in with the clean and contemporary feel, Hawk's New Gianni A Frame low tables and bench seats were supplied in communal dining areas to give students a chance to relax, collaborate or enjoy meals. All furniture was supplied in our new contemporary finish for 2018, Classic Ash MFC, with the addition of contrasting plain grey drawer fronts and backboards to some items.
