Women in Manufacturing and Engineering Careers Day

We were excited to take part in the Women in Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) Careers Event this week in Hull.

This inspiring event brought together employers, educators and industry professionals with the shared goal of opening young people’s eyes to the possibilities within manufacturing and engineering. Throughout the day, secondary school students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, talk directly with people working in the field and gain a deeper understanding of the diverse career paths available - from engineering and design to operations, digital technologies and beyond.

A key focus of the event was encouraging more girls and young women to consider futures in these dynamic, fast-growing sectors. By showcasing real role models and highlighting the wide range of skills and opportunities within the industry, the event aimed to break down stereotypes and inspire the next generation to pursue impactful careers in manufacturing.
